Standards for discoverability

Wiley plays a key role in initiatives which support the development and setting of standards in publishing such that they increase the discoverability and usability of digital content.


CrossRef promotes the development and cooperative use of new and innovative technologies to speed and facilitate scholarly research, including the citation linking backbone for all scholarly information in electronic form.


The CrossMark identification service from CrossRef gives scholars the information they need to verify that they are using the most recent and reliable version of a document.  By applying the CrossMark logo, publishers are committing to maintaining the 'version of record' and to alerting readers to changes if and when they occur.


COUNTER provides an agreed international set of standards and protocols governing the recording and exchange of online usage data.
